Reporting to: Managing Director
Overview: This is a volunteer role suited to communications, marketing, business or public relations students or graduates, and individuals who want practical experience of working in a social enterprise non-profit environment.
The role will suit energetic, passionate and self-motivated volunteers with excellent oral and written communication skills. You will work from home and use online office and collaboration tools.
Work duties can include:
- Researching potential partners and supporters
- Preparation of campaign proposals tailored to suit the partners
- Establishing contact with decision makers via phone calls and emails
- Use existing CRM software to manage and maintain your partners list
- Establish and cultivate strong relationships
- Assisting with media monitoring and media relations
- Assisting with social media engagement (Twitter, blogs, Facebook)
- Ad hoc research as required
- Donation processing and receipting, including data entry
- Maintain a high level of motivation working from home and setting your own agenda.
Qualifications / Skills / Attributes required:
- Excellent research, writing and phone skills
- Passion for the environment and a creative mind
- Excellent communication, analytical, time management and presentation skills
- Self-starter with a consultative sales approach
- Data entry skills – with outstanding attention to detail
- Ability to manage projects independently as well as show initiative
- Understanding of media and communications desirable
- Microsoft Office knowledge
- Your own computer and internet connection
- Experience working with content management systems and/or blogs desirable
Weekly hours required to fulfill duties:
- At least 2 days per week to full time (or minimum 12hrs)
