What does it mean to Clean the air?

When we say "Clean the Air" it means:

1. To reduce the amount of harmful green house gases resulting from human activity such as burning fossil fuels.

2. To reduce deforestation by replenishing deforested areas and degraded lands, and to preserve existing forests.

3. To reduce the amount of air pollution; contaminants in the air that cause instability, disorder, harm or discomfort to living organisms.

One tree = One tonne of clean air

Our goal is to clean the air, and when we say we've grown 100,000 tonnes of clean air it means we have planted 100,000 trees.  The counter on our home page includes the Clean Air Tree Kits that you plant, so please use the special PIN code inside your Kit to register and place your trees on the map

A few ways we clean the air

1. Every time we sell a Clean Air Tree Kit we plant at least one other tree, so that's at least 2 trees with each Kit you buy.

2. We are developing our Local Forest network that will show you where you can plant locally by connecting planters with available land.

3. In the future we'll invest in other clean air projects, like greenifying rooftops, so we'll be able to include that in out total too.

What does clean air mean to you?

You need oxygen and trees produce a lot of oxygen!  In one season one leafy tree produces enough oxygen for 10 people to inhale during a one whole year.

Trees absorb and lock away CO2!  Trees help to clean the air by using CO2 in the atmosphere to create food for themselves.

No one likes pollution!  Trees help clean the air by intercepting airborne particles and absorbing such pollutants as carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide. Trees remove air pollution by lowering air temperature, through respiration, and by retaining particulates.

Trees help to fight soil erosion, conserve rainwater, and reduce water runoff and sediment deposit after storms.
