Tree Planting Partners

You plant ONE tree, we plant ONE tree!

For every Clean Air Tree Kit sold WCAFI will plant another tree with our Tree Planting partners around the globe. If your organisation, project or group is involved in planting trees or other environmentally beneficial activities, please contact us to find out how you can start to receive funding from the WCAFI.

WCAFI is committed to help restore degraded lands in developing countries to sustainable productivity. Up to the end of 2009 WCAFI successfully planted 122,000 trees:

  • Malawi, Nkhata Bay 20,000
  • India, Tamil Nadu 17,000
  • Burundi, Ruyigi 15,000
  • Cameroon, Kumbo 25,000
  • Haiti, Leogane 20,000
  • Ethiopia, Guraghe 25,000

So far in 2010 WCAFI has issued funding for another 50,000 trees to be planted in Haiti, and will be issuing funds for at least another 30,000 in Malawi by the end of June. We have high hopes to be able to visit both these projects later in the year and to make our first video documentary from the field.

WCAFI is concentrating a lot of extra effort this year in Haiti, but very importantly not forgetting our other projects. Tree planting in Haiti is a fundamental part of their restoration and WCAFI is concentrating its efforts in the planting of trees to provide fruit, animal foder, construction materials and sustainable fuel wood for the local populations. The trees are integrated into the local agriculture and gardening systems.

As part of a campaign with Foundation Repsol we will be planting 4000 trees this year in Spain, 1000 trees in each race circuit used by the MotoGP 2010. WCAFI is also actively exploring the possibility of planting in Canada to help launch its local forest network, once we find some suitable partners.
